"You Print" Birthday Invitations
 A
great alternative to printed Sweet 16 Invitations are invitations you
print yourself on your home computer. Not only are they more
economical but they can also be very creative.
You can start with plain white paper or plain white card stock and
design everything yourself including the Sweet 16 graphics.
Or
you can start with paper or card stock that already has a Sweet 16 or
birthday
design.

There are several different sizes & styles to choose from

5 1/2" x 7 3/4" flat cards,
2-up
invitations (they perforate into two 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" invitations),
3.875" x
9.25" slim invitations, and

11" letterhead.
Each size and style has a coordinating
envelope.
"You Print" Invitations can be printed on your home printer.
Most are inkjet and laser compatible but make sure you check for
this before you buy.
If you're familiar with any word processing software you shouldn't
have too much trouble creating your invitation. Just remember to
run a few tests on plain paper before you use your birthday themed
paper.

To create the total number of invitations you need there are two
options:
- You can print all your
invitations on your home computer. Just make sure you have
plenty of ink on hand. For most home printers, you will likely
have to feed 10-30 sheets at a time, depending on the weight of the
paper. Make sure you order some
extra paper to allow for those invitations that don't print
properly.
- Another option is to print your invitation on a plain piece of
paper and then take it, along with your birthday-themed paper, to
your local copy store. Have the copy store copy your
invitation onto the blank sweet 16 themed paper/cards you provide them
with. Just make sure they're able to handle the paper size
and weight. Most copy stores should be okay with this.
Have the copy store run one test invitation before they run the
whole batch. Also, when you design and print your "master
copy" don't forget to take into account the design on your
birthday-themed paper.
Many local office supply stores also have birthday-themed letterhead and card stock. Check our

Flat Card birthday invitations
 Flat Card Invitations are 5 1/2" x 7 3/4". Most are 65 lb cover
which is a much heavier weight than regular paper (regular paper is 20
lb bond).

 2-Up Invitations come in sheets that are 8 1/2" x 11" so they will
fit in any standard home printer. Each sheet perforates into two 5
1/2" x 8 1/2" invitation.
Most 2-Up Invitations are 65 lb cover but make sure you check
for this before you buy.

cannot copy a professional photo at a copy store.
The copy store should require a written waiver from
the photographer. A 1976 law prohibits copying
professionally created photographs. So call
your photographer to obtain a one-time copyright
waiver and bring the waiver with you to the printer.
They may charge a small amount of money. This
varies by photographer. Or design your
invitation with a great photo you took yourself. |
